Two North Carolina Sears Stores Among Top Finishers in EPA’s Energy Star Battle of the Buildings Competition
ATLANTA – Sears Stores in Asheville and Hickory, N.C. were recognized this week by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as part of a top finishing team in the agency’s fifth-annual Energy Star Battle of the Buildings Competition. These stores—together with their teammates in Ohio and Maryland—competed as the team “Robinson’s Reducers” and cut their collective energy use by 14.1 percent by upgrading their lighting and installing remote energy monitoring systems
