Sunday and Monday Camp Events Cancelled Due to Poor Weather Conditions
Due to the forecasted heavy snow on Sunday, and the below zero temperatures and high winds on Monday, this weekend's Camp Santanoni Winter Weekend event will be limited to Saturday only, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) announced today. The event has been cancelled on Sunday and Monday for the safety of the public, staff, and volunteers.
On Saturday only, cross-country skiers and snowshoers will have access to the historic camp properties to rest, tour the buildings, view interpretative displays, and warm-up in the Artist's Studio. The public can ski and snowshoe on the Newcomb Lake Road and the connecting trails on Sunday and Monday if they choose. However, the buildings will be closed and no staff or volunteers will be present.
The public is invited to participate in the next Camp Santanoni Winter Weekend scheduled for the Presidents Day holiday weekend, February 16-18.
